Searching for a heated towel rack? There really is nothing more relaxing than taking a nice warm shower and drying off with a nice warm towel.
On this page I’ll go over the different methods for heating up your towels. For those of you that want to skip this and go directly to reviews of the best towel racks, please click here.
There are a few types of towel heaters with the most popular being the heated towel rack. The heated towel rack consists of a few bars usually made from chrome or steel which serve as a place to hold the towel.
These bars are heated with electricity and serve to warm and dry your towels. They can either be plugged into an electrical outlet or run directly into the wall.
Another type of electric towel warmer is the hot towel cabinet. The hot towel cabinet can hold a multitude of towels and will usually store them folded.
A cabinet will usually store the towels folded or rolled and is great for warming up clean towels. This being said, I would not use a cabinet to dry and warm a towel that has already been used.
You are better off using a heated towel rack for this since it will also air the towel out which is more sanitary.
Benefits of a heated towel rack.
The obvious benefit of the heated towel rack is the warm towel you get to dry off with at the end of your shower or bath. This makes bathing more relaxing and is especially useful during the cold winter months.
In addition to this, a heated towel rack helps ensure that your bath towel dries quickly after each use. This will help keep mold and mildew from setting in on your bath towel between uses.
These racks will also help keep the humidity level in your bathrooms a bit lower and can even be used to dry clothing.
The Traditional Towel Warmer & Drying Rack
This towel rack plugs into the wall and does not have a hard wired option. However, this is the only flaw I can find with it.
The great thing about this heated towel rack is that it can be mounted to the wall and it can stand up on its own from the floor. This makes the unit very portable and versatile.
You’ll find that it can even make a great dry rack for your bedroom or even for your college bound son or daughter.
The Kensington Hardwire/Softwire Electric Wall Mounted Towel Warmer and Drying Rack
This towel rack is a large wall mounted rack that can hold more than one towel. It is perfect for the small family or even just for the person that wants their guests to have a warm towel when they visit.
You can hardwire this unit into your wall or you can simply plug it into an electrical outlet. This towel rack is perfect for those that do not need a freestanding heated towel rack.
The Regent Hardwire/Softwire Electric Wall Mounted Towel Warmer and Drying Rack
The Regent wall mounted towel warmer is basically a smaller version of the Kensington. It will heat your towels just as quickly as its larger cousin.
Unfortunately, this towel rack is not large enough to hold multiple towels at once. It does however make up for this by being about half the price.
